What it's like
The hour has a deliberate ritual shape: a host welcomes everyone, you type what you will work on into chat, someone reads an opening quote, and then several hundred people write silently at once. The fixed start times do the anti-procrastination work: the session happens whether you are ready or not, which converts 'I should write today' into 'I write at 8'. It is the scheduled, communal cousin of the writing techniques on this site.
Who it suits
- Writers who can produce once started but reliably fail to start alone.
- People who want body doubling without one-to-one video pressure: you are one tile among hundreds.
- Anyone building a daily writing habit around a fixed anchor time.
